I was contemplating on removing the side molding right below the door handle on my 03 cavy. Ive saw it done before. Is it as simple as peeling it off and cleaning it up or does it require some body work to repaint?
Im guessing that it has that black foam underneath? like the chevrolet and cavalier emblems do?
Also, my car is about 2 years old, do you think it might have faded over time and taking it off might leave a darker yellow than the rest of the car, leaving me with a line down the side of the car.
I did my white 03 and I dont have any difference in color. Also none of my clearcoat came off or anything. Just use the fishing string method and you shouldn't have any problem

Yep.
There shouldn't be too much fading. If there is all you have to do is buff it. The whole thing shouldn't take any more than 15 min for both sides.
If there is some difference in color, I guess some rubbing compound would take care of it.
