i was washing my car and a guy came up and ask me if i wanted the fix this dent in my door and i said yeah he charged me 175 painted but with the can paint you get from autozone. he said he'll shave my trunk lid using fiberglass for $300. i was wondering if this is a fair price or should i shop around and the price includes the paint?

I get it done cheap for about $200.. I can get my trunk shaved for $50..
You just have to know the right people and stuff.....And my friend works at
a body shop...and he does any repair/thing I need completed...Mixes up
the paint for the car and that's it. He don't overcharge me on labor.
You don't want to shave your trunk with fiberglass anyways....bad idea.
It'll crack out eventually.
You should weld the keyhole/inners or whatever up and grind it down smooth.
This guy is just tryin' to take advantage of you.

do not let that hack touch your car.
no body shop tech will ever fill a hole or shave something with fiberglass. it's weld or nothing. if you use fiberglass or body filler, it will eventually crack and you'll have to redo it.
Hehe ya, I didn't weld me driver door when I shaved it(before I figured out the right way to do it) and just recently the keyhole started cracking. Thank god I havn't painted yet. So ya, WELD EVERYTHING. But try to learn to do it all yourself. It will benift in the end.

Look if the dent isn't too big some of those paintless dent removal guys can work wonders . I'd get an estimet from some of them in your area and see what they say.
They usualy charge less and since they dont need to re-paint you don't have that to worry about.
The trunk should be welded.
