1st of yes i did seach for it. but i remeber one being posted before. anyone got it i went from a sunfire front toa cavy front and need help with the wiring. it was working before but now the passengerside headlight stopped working (kind) lowbeams don't come on and brights stay dim and don't become brighter? any help would be appreciated.
i see noone posted on this one... i was actually wondering the same thing for a sunfire front end conversion so if someone could possibly be kind enuff to post up the wiring diagrams for both... that would be awsome cuz i'm having the IDENTICAL problem... or at least i WAS until i took all the corosion out
thats all i can tell you about the headlight dimming out... you have to take all the corosion off the wire and the best thing to use to stop it from coming back would be to shrink tube it... but i do still need the wiring diagram so i can get my dims and brights back to normal... thanks to whoever posts it up...
well, for me the wiring was all done right. it ended up being a blowen fuse
mine actually WAS done right too... but than just because of such a short time frame we had to do the swap, we didnt do anything to the wiring to prevent the corrosion.. so after about four times of redoing each headlight as they went out... i've kinda forgotten wich wire goes to what color... lol.
So I dont know if anyone can help me out with that or not... but thanks if you can...
and good to hear that a fuse was the only problem man...
Nstig8r did u swap over the headlight wiring harness this would be the easiest way for dealing with the headlights.. plug and play
as blood mount said, thats what i did when i went from a cav to sunfire front and it was much easier then trying to tap wires
well of course i swapped the whole harness over... i dont think there's any other way to do it... but you have to clip those harnesses off of their original wiring from the sunfire and wire it up to the cavalier... so what i dont remember is what color wiring from the cavalier... goes to the wires of the harness of the sunfire... there's 4 wires coming from the cavalier because theres two bulbs in a cavy... and theres only 3 wires from the harness on the sunfire... so thats gotta mean that 2 of the wires have to go to one wire somewhere... thats why i'm asking if anyone knows the wiring (color to color)... thanks again...
Orange is power. Our cars run a switched ground, blue being low beam when grounded, pink being high beam when grounded.

Thanks Lanman... that actually helps out a TON... the other thing i wanted to know was... since the cavalier has two bulbs per headlight and the sunfire has only one... four wires come out of my and only 3 from the sunfire harness...
on the driver side coming from the car their are 2 orange, one blue and one pink... passanger side their are 2 BLUE, one orange and one pink... And of course on both the sunfire harnesses, their are 1 orange, 1 blue and 1 pink... when i put the two oranges together and hook them to the orange from the harness... and the blues to blue on the other side... it dosent seem to work correctly... so what i'm wondering..........
is there a certain way these are supposed to be wired color to color?
not sure, can't remeber all that well when we did mine....but ill go out tomorrow and take pic of the wiring job (color-color) cause well all i know is what ever we did it works very well.
that would be greatly appreciated... mine is actully a sunfire front end and i see yours is a cavalier... but i'd just assume that yours is just opposite of mine... but thank you and i'll check back tomorrow...
search for something i think it was like 2k to pre 2k... its a post on wiring 00 headlights to 99 and its the same principal for what ur doing, thats what i used
yea i beleve its pretty much the opposite. anyways, sorry for the delay of pictures had to wait for the snow to let up bwfore i would get out to my car.
drivers side
passenger
now im using 2 9005 bulbs becsuse of stupid black projectors so the stock colors are thrown off for the lowbeams
not the best pics either but it was the bast i could do atm.
