front bumper is expensive and a ton of work to get it on right.... the hood, you can't buy... it atsrted as an ivader hood but beyond that its a one off custom, the front edge has been reshaped slightly and eyelids made from scrath and molded in plu spaint.... even more expensive then the bumper

Front bumper can only he ordered through GM and the hood looks like a VIS one. GCheck www.gravanatuning.com for VIS

ok a little more detail....

front bumper was in the range of $500 + shipping.... plus paint and install and sending out a piece of the car for paint matching was another $300. Plus ended up taking it apart twice and messing with it more and more on my own till the fit was finally decent, also its making away to use the stock front grill bar thingy, thats not surpossed to be used with this front end.

The hood I got for about $500 shiped and then spent in the range of about $700 to get it modified how I want it, taking some of the pointiness off the front edge, cutting up the front section of it, making eyelids from scratch, molding it all in, masking and painting, clear coating the whole thing, then masking off the painted area and clear coating the CF section a few extra time so there is no unlevel paint ridge.

My hood is a JSP OEM style. Check gravana for it. It's light a hell, I'm assuming one of the lightest ones out there and atad flimsy. It's makes the RKS CF hoods feel like stock comapred to mine.

you can get it through GM but its hard to get... I don't have the part numbers but even with the numbers people have said it doesn't show up in the system when they tried to get a hold of it.

and the question about the components...
I don't knwo if thats dirrected to me or not but to get them to fit door panel had to come out, had to trim away some of the metal aorund the factory 4x6's, then entire window regulator and all the parts had to be unbolted, then spacer made to fit the bottom of the regulator to push the regulator and the glass and everythign about 1/2 inch farther into the door so the windows would clear the magnets, then a piece of wood made to mount the speakers to, about an 3/4" - 1" thick, wood is mounted to the door itself and speakers mounted in the wood, its just BARELY clears botht he window and the door panel.

here you go cav2nv420, this should help with the 6 1/2's in the doors http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=4&i=115422&t=115422
and it varies on the depth of course of the new speaker whether or not you need to go Darkstars' route or not, mine i did in that link and no clearance issues

thanks but i tried that and the type r's are way too deep they dont fit behind door panel if i build up the wood spacer it wont hit window but hits panel i think i am screwed
Re: Darkstars hood and bumper?
Friday, January 20, 2006 5:23 AM
thats why you unbolt the bottom on tht ergulator and put a spacer into it to push ALL of the window related stuff frather into the door, so the spaked can move farther into the door and not hit the panel and yeah the newest style type R's are HUGE they sound awsome though

what ever amp you you make sure is quaility. I'm more then ahppy with Alpine Type R/Alpine V12 setup.

At last tears bash there were some people that wanted to hear... when cranked up you could feel it in the ground all aorund the car (parking in a field) and sounded perfectly loud and clear, you could still hear all the detail and highs in the music ect... so as for amp to use wuth them, it kinda depends on what your running for subs... if your running a good setup you don't want to underpower the components or you wont hear music, just noise/bass
