Just wondering if anyone has swapped a stock Sunroof from a third gen into another third gen without a sunroof, I was kinda wondering a ballpark price on the install at a shop, I dont trust myself cutting up my car with a sawz-all

factory or not, its doesnt matter. even w/ a professional install, its still prone to leaking. im not telling you not to do it because i know people on here have done it and its worked out fine but its somethin' i just dont trust
mine is actually aftermarket, put in by the previous owner. the only time it has ever leaked is when someone busted the clips trying to break into my car through the sunroof.
well price wise will change, but from what research i have already done on an aftermarket sunroof. they were talking alittel over 700, for sunroof, labor, and lifttime warrenty on leakage. i would have already done this, but i dont just have 700 to drop on somthing like that. maybe when i graduate and get a real job... haha
How much did it run you for your cannon fodder?

The best way to do this is to remove the rear window, both quarter glass and sail panels and windshield. Then drill out the spot welds and remove the roof panel and reinforcements as needed the proper way. Fit other reinforcement and roof panel and weld into place. Oh and don't forget ...take out the sunroof glass, track and everything else first before the other work. It is alot of work but it is the best way to do it. Not recommended if you don't know what you are doing but is possible. Absolutely no leaks then. Thats how I'd do it at the shop. I couldn't really give you a price but it wouldn't be over 1000. Sorry if you do not understand what i have posted here but this isn't a detailed instruction on how to do it ...but more like a general idea on tranfering a roof from one car to another.

Im putting a Pontiac G6 panoramic sunroof in my car. I had the salvage yard clip me the whole roof at the top of the window posts. Then cut out the sunroof and another 6" of surrounding metal. Then cut the hole in my roof, and welded the G6 piece in, voila, no leaks since the whole assembly went in witht he G6 sheetmetal still intact.
In your case, not sure if its worthwhile. Quite an undertaking, but sunroofs are nice to have. Just not sure if you want to spend that much on one. I know if my car were being left stock or a daily driver I wouldnt do it becuz of the price. Be easier to buy one with a sunroof already.
