FLAME THROWER
I've seen these types of kits going for $40-$150 depending on where you look. Why spend that much when you can do it yourself? For this kick ass mod, all you need is a car, a sparkplug, ignition wire, and a switch. Install the spark plug into the last four or five inches of the tailpipe by drilling a hole that the plug can screw into easily. Attach the wire (this is regular insulated wire) to one side of the switch and to the spark plug. The other side of the switch is attached to the positive terminal on the battery. With the car running, simply hit the switch and watch the flames fly!!! You won't be shooting 20' flames, but you'll make heads turn. Be careful that no one is behind you!

just use a propane jet and an igniter

or do it the real way and start to build your motor
I dont think you can run a cat with it tho, its like you have a priming button that gets some gas down into the exhaust, then a cylinoid with a sparkplug in a bung at the end. At least thats how they did it on the older cars, not sure now adays.
One problem with doing a flame throw kit is that you will pollute your catlytic converter due to all that fuel. The kit is very easy to install. the kits your buy have a modulator (probably wrong word) that cuts off the spark to your plugs and allows fuel to go threw the exhaust valvles. Now you will need a spark plug drilled into your tail pipe. Get some kind of cheapy coil like 9 bucks that will produce the spark for your plug in your pipe and there ya go. and the 4 - 5 inches is about right and also the kit should come with a switch. These are not good idea to use on the streets, even if there is no one behind you mr. policeman will get pissed. heh

this seems like the best way to do it IMO.
but, id try to mount the spark plug behind the CAT that way you don't pollute it.

the spark plug is behind the cat
the reason the cat gets polluted is b.c you run unburned fuel thru it to get to the spark plug to be ignited
haha thats pretty crazy
