Can you put a clear coat with a blue pearl on the current paint?
I was thinking of wet sanding, then having a clear coat (with a blue pearl or flake) shot on. Would this work?

what you are talkin about is the mid-coat clear or color blender in ppg
never do you put pearl in a clear coat you always use a mid coat clear
ya got to be a bit more specific about what you are wanting to do it almost sounds like you just want to apply a pearl over the factory paint

will it work?? yes it will .....will it look right i doubt it
why not save your money and get a complete paint job with the color you really want
doing it that way it will look allot better then just a pearl over the factory paINT

Well that basiclly what I want to do. But instead of a pearl, I want to add a blue flake. My car is factory black. Now I was thinking of having the shop spray a coat of black with a blue flake, and then just putting a couple coats of clear. Would that work and look better?

By the way, the paint job I want will cost over a grand, so Im gonna hold off a bit on the pearl idea.

ya your almost better doing it with new paint the end result will look allot better
