I read that the spoiler of a z24 won't fit the 03+ trunk lid. has anyone ever tried trimming the spoiler so it would fit? I just picked one up for free. If anyone wants to trade trunks to make my life easier, that would work too Also, is there a good thread on here on how to strip the paint off (spoiler is blue, car is silver) and prep it for paint? Thanks!

well i would have thought it would fit since the trunk lids are really the same shape and everything anyways.. the onlything really different is the reflector piece.

the 00-02 Z24 spoiler doesn't fit because it comes down on the back side of the trunk lid too far, and hits the red reflector. it does "fit" the lid, but the reflector gets in the way.

i think tomorrow i might try and mock up what i would need to trim off to make it fit. if i cut it up and it doesn't work, well, it was free... i won't lose any money and I'll learn from the experience.

well it is hollow so if oy trim off the botom "lip" of the spoiler you are going to more than likely have a huge hoel that runs the length of the spoiler.

Free you can to wrong with. I way jsut go to a yard and get a silver trunk lid. 02

Shave down the top side of the reflector bar on the trunk instead...

which is just a leftover 95-99 z24 spoiler that GM got rid of calling it the ls style spoiler, lol.
