door...

I have a 95' sedan and my passenger side rear door broke. One day a buddy of mine got in and it was fine but when he opened it to get out it wouldnt shut. I went home with it bungeed shut and started messing around with it. I found there was like little button type thing on the bottom of the latch i could feel. When you hold that little tab/button up and shut the door while holding it it will stay closed but will randomly come open. Does anyone know what or how i can fix it.

I was told it had something to do with child safety lock, but i dont kno

Seeing as how your car is 11 years old, I'm wondering if the mechanism inside the door might not need some lubrication. I've seen this problem on a lot of GM's where the metal gets rusted and doesn't work properly because it's seized up.

Had this problem on my Bonneville winter rat back in the day, and most recently on my buddy's K5 Blazer.

theres a little peice that hangs down tho and if you push it up and hold it while shutting the door the door holds just it sometimes will come open at random

Any chance you could take a pic? This still sounds like an internal problem to me, though (without being able to see it)
