Alright, I really just need clarification more than anything. I'm getting ready to do my Toyota tails in a couple minutes on my '05 Cav and I was looking at the rear reflector panel. I've always heard that if you just remove it, you'll essentially be left with a '95-'02 decklid only with
2 extra holes. From what I saw, it looks like it's going to be more like 7 extra holes?!
I admit, I didn't try to take it off to confirm this only because I hate getting all pumped to do a project only to have something dumb stop me. If it's
really only 2 holes that I'll have to deal with, then I'm just going to use cheapo plastic body plug things to fill in until my car gets to the shop in a couple weeks. If it's more than 2 (like 7
) then I'm just not going to bother with it right now. Can anyone please enlighten me?
Thanks.
i think it is more than 2 holes. I am not 100% positive about it but i think it is.. that is why i made a trip to the junkyard not too long ago for a new lid
But let someone else who has looked at it before tell you for sure. You can always look behind the trunk lid and count the holes without taking the piece off ( i think you can see some of them) but if you can't see them and end up taking the piece off... let us all know how many there are
Thanks

Thanks, Shaun.
I just finished killing my DRLs and I'm kinda bored, so I might just go out and find out for myself. Anybody else have any input on this before I do?
Um yeah I don't know who told you it was only two holes but they either had no clue what they were talking about or they lied. You are correct there are 7 holes. 5 at the top and 2 on the bottom. You'll either need a trunk lid off a pre 03 car or the RK Sport CF filler pannel or you can do like I did and have them welded shut and the trunk repainted.
Good luck
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
^^^ Thanks, that's what I thought. I was already planning on getting a new decklid (not getting the holes filled on mine because it has a little hail damage and I'm getting a new wing too), but I'm getting tired of looking at my Toyota tails just sitting in my garage. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to be patient.
i dont know if it will work but i have a 95-99 deck that i'll let go for $50 unless i have to deliver or ship it's in perfect con. with no holes. Never had a wing on it so it's flawless. it's also white.
bornpro, where you at? I wouldn't mind coming to get it if you're somewhat close. It'll work with my car just fine (after a trip to the paint booth, of course
) and the $$$ will work with my wallet too. Lemme know.
