95-99 to 2001 headlight projectors
Monday, March 20, 2006 5:31 PM
i read a post earlier and it said that no company makes projectors for the 2001 cavy, my question is how hard would it be to make 95-99 cavy headlights fit in my 01 cavy? dont even start hassling me about searching because i did and found nothing!!

finders keepers losers suck!!

WELL YOU WOULD HAVE TO CONVERT YOUR FRONT BUMPER TO THE 95-99 STYLE. THE 95-99 HEADLIGHTS ARE SLIGHTLY SMALLER IN HEIGHT THAN THE 00-02 SO A DIFFERENT BUMPER WOULD BE REQUIRED, NOT SURE WHAT ELSE, I KNOW YOU WONT NEED NEW FENDERS OR A NEW HOOD

you will need the fenders if you plan to switch them to the older headlights, because the 95-99 have the brackets to hold on the corner lights, unless you just weld one onto the fenders you have now.

because people in the j community are cheap and when it comes to new parts, they usually cost more and people say they will pay but when it comes down to it only 2-3 will actually pay

dont feel bad the 95-99 projectors suck anyway so dont waste your time or money. only thing good about them is looks for driveability they suck. either 95 or 00 will both need to be retrofitted with projectors

There a Few lights made.. I have a 01. And just got the blacked out head lights and conours. plus there not projectors.. So they don't affect night time enjoy ment.

there where $220 plus 35 shipping.

That's a deal in my mind.

ive purchased...

95-99 Urethane Drift front
95-02 SS Hood
95-99 Black projector lights

now I am in the process of getting a wiring harness from a 95-99 cavalier from my friend ( MantaZ ) and then we will splice to make the 95-99 headlights work with a 2k+ harness and my look has gone from

So.. not as easy as it seems.. but to me worth it because I like the look better

^^^

but i agree. you paid $250 for something you could have done for $5 in paint

but yes, projectors for 00-02 are basically not made because people are cheap

someone explain this to me because it seems as if i painted the inside of the light black then the lights would have nothing to reflect off of so they would be very dim

i would say make you own projectors not that hard if you have some common tools, time and alil mechanical no how!

you can get everything you need for $200-300 if not alil less!

and if you can save the stock headlight lense then it will be way less

let me know if you need any parts!

Who the hell are you? I can stand here all day making wise cracks on how much money you have spent on useless things like Air ride, body kits and all that other useless crap you have hanging off your car. but I don't. This is the only exterior mod I plan on doing, Because I don't need a useless flashy car to make people like me.

Also,I realized I could of made them for 5 bucks . But I did not want to have to deal with head lights full of water, And I do not plan on driving my j for the rest of my life. (unlike some people here) and one day the car will go back to stock. and it cost me 45 dollars more to buy the black head lights then it would to get a stock set from a wreckers.

Please take this time to realize that your a hypocrite.

ok.. lets see.. you make fun of him for having several exterior mods and spending too much on useless stuff..

but you turn around and pay 250 for black headlights, and if you dont need usless flash.. do you think the headlghts will make you see better ?

So therefor.. you are a hypocrite

P.S. before you call me a hypocrite because I spend 200 on black lights.. I happen to enjoy useless flash

2 things, well 3 things

1) your an idiot
2) if you want pics of my daily driver i would be happy to give them to you. the cav sits most of the time as i dont really like driving it so im not tryin' to be flashly. the car is clean, theres nothing outragious or flashy about it.
3) everything done to my car can be taken off and returned to stock in 1 day
