Not a lick of truth to that, they were not made by toyota or made overseas.

they were built by GM here in the US and shipped overseas if i remember correctly.

Re: toyota cavalier?

They are basicly a Chevy Cavalier, made in the us, shipped of seas to japan or where ever and sold under the name Toyota. I guess since toyota was already a major car company over there GM thought it would have a better chance selling Cavaliers under that name. Also if u look there are alot of differences between US and Japan Cavaliers

They were made in Lordstown, OH I believe. They are a chevy cavalier, rebadged with a toyota badge, right hand drive, different fenders, and I think all of them were 2.4L auto's. They had some interior enhancements like a leather steering wheel, carpeted trunk lid, etc.

There is a TON of info on this if you search for "toyota cavalier" set it to all dates, and all forums.

With flashing neon lights that say "Free Sex" in big huge letters, and in smaller letters "Just kidding. It's actually a search button. Feel free to use it."

is it legal to drive right handed in north america? Maybe a better question is, would it be smart? Doesn't it screw up your viewing angles?

^^^yes and no. before you can legally drive one of those you have 1 of 3 choices...

1) have one imported from japan or where ever, have it tested and blah blah blah to get it legalized in the USA. <<<<<<PITA

2) try to find one that has already been imported and legalized and buy it. <<<<<<bigger PITA

3) buy the stuff from www.street-line.net and just do the RHD conversion (I can count on like 2 or 3 fingers those that have actually accomplished this (correct me if im wrong there) <<<<<BIGGEST PITA EVAR

or you can import it and drive it illegally <<<<<<<DO NOT RECOMMEND

Your all wrong! They were built by Rolls Royce in a secret factory located on an uncharted island 10 nautical miles north north west from the coast of Scotland under the close supervision of Porsche and Boeing thru a special deal brokered by the king of the world to make the most specialist sought after Cavalier EVER ! Their was only one small problem. Most of the world could have cared less so they didn't build many.

Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
