Hi, first off I Have a 97 sunfire GT and I was just wondering:

1) there is a plastic peice inbetwen the front bumper and the frame that blocks the vents. I wanted to know if that can be removed and how. I wasnt sure if it was for the airbag or not and didnt want to screw with it till I knew.

2) where can I find a wing like the one in this photoshoped image of my car? (my buddy did it) click the cardomain link and its the first pic on the page

I have no clue about the front bumper.

As far as the spoiler is concerned, Wings West makes a spoiler like that for Sunfires.

Are you talking about that long, narrow black piece of plastic? Sounds like you're referring to the air dam to me. It's purpose is to direct air up at the radiator. I wouldn't take it off, personally. I've heard of overheating issues from doing so.

You really want your car to resemble a shopping cart (with that wing?)

now that u mention it it does look shopping cart ish, but im over it, I think those type look best on sunfires, I've seen a few with the aluminum wing style and didn't like it, its all a matter of personal preference.

that wing looked bad on the supras....and even worse on a sunfire.

Ignore the 2 last people.. just look at there sigs it says enough. If you want the wing get it its all about personal preference

There are many more options for the Sunfire besides an aluminum wing. Hit my up some time and I'll lay'em out for ya. Even if it takes a little custom fabbing on your part to make it fit perfectly, it'd be worth it.

We'll show me some more options on some wings then. I'm open minded. I looked for a while and thats the kind I like most. All the persormance shops in this town really suck and have nothing.

well now that that covered, the peice behind the bumper actually blocks the vents and doesnt direct any air towards the rad. the main reason I wanted to take it out was to vent the rad and so my underbody lights shine through.

looks like a newer tiburon spoiler to me.

my choice of aftermarket spoilers is the wings wes commando wing. its not over the top goofy but still stands out.

No offense to anyone, but he didn't ask for your opinions on the spoiler. He only asked where he could find one. I answered that for him, so there was really no reason for any of you to post your opinions about the spoiler.

Another option is getting rid of the stock spoiler and leaving the car spoilerless. This gives the car a really clean look that a lot of people on here like. Just another option for you .

As far as the plastic piece, I know what you're talking about. I'm not sure how you would go about removing it, but since it blocks the openings to the front bumper it shouldn't hurt anything if you take it out. Don't quote me on that though, I'm just guessing.

if i get bord today ill break out the hacksaw lol but i'll take that all apart when I do my fender. just to see.

well for that type of spoiler i know of [URL=www.andysautosport.com]www.andysautosport.com[/URL] they ship to canada, a few people i know have ordered things from them and havent had problems. The 2 on there that match what you want are the pilot motorsports spoiler and they carry the wings west spoiler as well

The RK sport is a nice one, except they kept on the stock spoiler on and that looks bad in my opinion but I like that style for sure, thanks guys!

You don't have to keep the stock spoiler on. You could remove it and have just the RK Sport spoiler if you wanted .
