hmmmmmm seems like it should work, but i dont have a 95-99 so no idea

Second pic, wires:

noticed there were some numbers on the relay so they were added to the wires they are diagramed on the relay in bold
Alright as I just told you on AIM before I got booted
4 pins of a standard relayy are GENERALLY )not always)
30-battery power
87-to electrical consumer
86-power thats switched
85-ground
example.... ignore what its actually wired for but this is how a relay is wired

My suggestion is.... forget about the Sunfire wiring harness. Put your Cavalier harness back in (because you know it works), then add or re-wire the connectors as you need to.
I'lll tell you why.... depending on the year, and car, GM moved pins around, added and removed wires, etc in the headlight harness. If you try to plug a Sunfire headlight harness into the Cavalier harness, it may be missing pins entirely (or in the wrong places), causing things to not work (like HORNS in my case.... oh, and the wiper fluid too!)
I put my correct harness back in, changed the plugs, and moved the wires around as necessary. Much easier!
That is the headlight/DRL relay... I don't have that one anymore, but I think you connect orange to orange...
I would take Lenko's advice. It would be easier to splice in the headlight socket to your existing harness than to rewire the entire headlight system.
Positive to positive and hi/lo have a common ground. Easy as that.
Alright thanks lenko.. guess thats what ill do..
Is this for every sunfire harness (missing the relay), or just the one you picked up? Im in the same situation as you and would really like to not have to re-wire headlights because I've heard of people having problems with their headlights after doing this. I was just about to go to the junkyard next week and pick me up a harness, but I was kinda thinking it was just a little easier. Let me know how it works out.

The rewiring isn't too difficult. A test light and splicing in 3 wires for each side is all you need to do.
The diagram is above that shows which wire you need to splice (high beam = pink, low = dk blue, the last wire is ground on the Sunfire plug)
There shouldn't be an issue as long as the splices are done correctly.
^yes wiring shouldnt be to difficult. Sorry JoeyDaBomb for gettin ur hopes up for the sunfire harness.. certain ones will work but im thinking its not worth the trouble unless u just buy one to use the pigtails which is what im going to do with it now. here is a How to in the FAQ that has a better(easier to understand anyway) wiring diagram so u know where wires go to which.

My 97 fire harness had a relay...my 99 model fire had none.
Depending on the year, model, options, etc... you could have up to 4 relays there.
My 2000 Z24 had two... one for fog lights, one for turning off the fog lights when the high beams were on. My 99 had one, for the fog lights. I pulled a 96 or 97 sunfire, it had four on it... one for DRLs, one for fogs, one for the high beam shutoff, and I can't remember the reason the other one was there. I was shocked though... way too many.
DRL's relay are in the fuse panel inside the car on 00-05 cars.
My question is will the harness from a 96 z24 with relays for fogs and drl's work on my 99 fire which had no relays on the factory harness?
^^I dont think so.. because mine is a 96 with 4 relays and a 9? sunfire with no relays didnt work right on my car so i can only assum the same for the opposite..
looks like we are going to have to switch back harnesses micah.
if want to a junkyard and found a sunfire harness WITH the relay on it, would it work for my 96 z24?

Should, in theory, as long as the pin-out is the same
thanks, i hope so. i'll go by the yards tomorrow

9? Sunfire GT Connector on the Left(no relay) / 96 Cavalier Z24 on the Right(4 relays)
For the cavalier one none of the pins or hid. it goes
o o o o []
o o o o []
o o o [] []
o=pin
[]=empty
