Other than right angle and straight conections, is there any real difference between the 880 and 881 driving lights? Upon inspection, they seem to have the same specs. My car has 880, but I can get upgraded 881 lights locally, but not 880.
Upgrading Your '95-'99 Z24's Fog Light Bulbs
incase you dont understand what i meant by that link.. it says u should originally have a 881 bulb stock.. unless u have a 00+, the 95-99 use a 881 stock but u can easily upgrade to a 886 and get a higher wattage bulb which means its brighter than stock.
stock 881 bulb is 27watt
upgraded 886 bulb is 55watt
hope that helped u a lil
I've bought the aftermarket 55 wat bulbs, they are not availible in 881 where I live. Only the 55 watt 880. I know I can put an upgraded 881 (886), but I wwant to know if the 880 will work as well, as I can buy the 880 locally for a lot cheaper than buying the 881 online.
honestly i couldnt tell ya that.. it might work.. but im not sure.. i think i got a 2k fog laying somewhere(880) and ill see how it fits in my 99 fog lights(there jsut sitting in my dining room haha) and ill also check and make sure theyll plug into my fog pigtail. might be 30min-hour if i find th e00 bulb
ok i went out and i have one 880 bulb in ym driverside fog on my 00 bumper.. problem is.. i cant get to it.. the 96 windshield washer fluid container is different than the 00 and my windshield container is right up against it where i cant get the damn bulb out. So u can either take a chance and buy the bulbs to see if theyll work, or wait till next week around tues or wed till i take off the front bumper to work on the wiring to get the bulb out. choice is up to you.. or maybe u can find someone else who can help or who has tried..
my uograded fogs melted the housings a little bit
^yeah someone was telling me the 2k fogs dont take wattage upgrades much but the 95-99 can handle more.. maybe made a lil better in 95-99.. who knows.
