Not too sure what forum this goes in...
Anyway, what do you guys use to dry off your car after washing it? I use this shimmy thing, but it doesn't do such a good job. Thanks.

I dry with a chamois, then use a easy wipe on and off product like race glaze to remove all the stuff a chamois misses if I don't want water spots or streaks. Or else some glass cleaner and soft paper or cloth toweling will work. They make a lot of detailing products you may want to check out, even microfiber towels and stuff like that.

Cloth Diapers from Walmart. Also work well for waxing. Hey, if it's soft enough for my kids butt, it's soft enough for my paint.

During warm weather I use microfiber towels that I wash every time I use them to take out any residue that's left over from washing. Then I buff the car out with Instant Detailer if I'm in a hurry. Otherwise I use Meguiars products. During the winter I just run the car through the automatic wash and deal with it since there's always road salt and crap everywhere.

Mr. Clean Auto Dry system

I really didn't dry my car off all season. I just use this method to wash it, it dries itself in the sun and if there are any small spots that aren't perfect, I hit'em up with some quick detailer and a microfiber towel.

I drive. Dries it off mostly, I usually wax after I wash so whatever's left i'll wipe off while I'm waxing.

How often do you end up waxing your car in one season?^^^^ with a method like that?

In the winter a quick California blade and a chamois....in the summer after my sping wax only a chamois.......but like said above I am also a fan of the Mr. Clean and then go over what was not perfect with a chamois

i used to have a hyper dry towel, then some one stole all my car cleaning products out of my car.

right now i use a lamb skin chamois, works good.

i wax with mothers carnuba hard wax and my orbital buffer.

there is a product by eagle one that is a spray on that is supposed to wax as you dry. honestly, it works like crap as a wax as you dry, but makes a great detailing spray. spray it on and wipe it off with a terry towel or cloth diaper once your car is dry, makes it soft as a baby's bottom.

Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!

I use a Speed dry cloth from Simonize. I love it! does a wicked job. I use Wax As You dry while I dry it, and wax with 3M Show Car Shine wax.
And I am not a fan at all of teh California Duster, left streaks and swirls on my paint before I had the car re-painted

Wax-As-Your dry anything is crap! Yea.. lets take the impurities in un filtered tap water and mix them in with the wax, that will look like teh HAWTNESS, lol im not poking fun at you dude im just goofin, i dont care for the car duster either, microfiber towls work 10000x better.

We used the race glaze (applied by hand) many moons ago at a dealership I worked at after we were done compounding and polishing and washing it as a final step before it was delivered to the customers. That way no water spots were left and it looked nice for the person picking it up. It is breathable so It was okay to use on new paint. There are probably alot of other hand glazes that work just as easily as well, Just don't apply the products in the hot sun. In my younger years as a peon wash boy, we used the quick detailer on new deliverys, but glass cleaner is cheap and with paper towling does a good job getting little water left after using a chamois. A chamois to me doesn't always seem to pick up all the water and leaves amall spots of water and can still look dirty where spots are left.'
