I just Bought 95-99 Projector style headlights
Sunday, April 02, 2006 3:38 AM
I hit an f-150 because my brakes locked up while i was downshifting. my abs doesn't work and my drivers side front wheel isn't working with the tranny. (swapping out with a quad4 dohc lo)

this happened yesterday after i bent it all back in a somewhat better-than-it-was shape

I bought 95-99 projector lights this evening but i also I want to use 2000+ clear signal lights because they are cooler than the crappy wallet sized 95-99 ones. i need to fab brackets and fibreglass my bumber to fit the smaller headlights i'll provide pics later in the afternoon. actally i'm using one side and it looks hilarious. not like angel eye. so F'd up everybody laughed at it like i had it on for a month. but i only got in an accident yesterday so its not that bad.

not to be an ass but it's not going to match up at all... your corner is gonna be way bigger than the headlight.

Dont the 2000+ corner lens mount to the headlights? That might be difficult to do, but if its the look you're going for, good luck and I'm sure it can be done.

yep not to mention that you'd have to do a lot of glassing to make the headlights work on that bumper... just do the conversion or get the right headlights.

yeah.. its not gonna fit man, I hate to tell you..

the corner mouts to the light, plus is a lot bigger.. plus the bumper is gonna have to fit them both and so say tou did it .. it would look like ass

plus.. the wiring is completely different.. wait till me and stephen have the swap info up and youll see what im saying.. I have a 2001 w/ 95-99 Black projectors and he has black housing 00+ headlightts and wiring is a bitch, and I got a new front bumper, lights, fenders, and you have to splice into the wiring harness

Good luck if you wanna go for it though

I hope im not coming off as ass.. im not trying to at all.. just letting you know its harder than people think

i know it doesn't fit. its only the bottom of the headlight that needs a block and fibreglass for it. i'm going to make the corner light fit because its still a 2000 cav. i'll show you pics later.

he must have been thinking that since the hoods are the same the main headlight part is the same... but the headlight is larger on the 00-02s and sit into the bumper more than the 95-99s. it wont work at all.

That is not the way its going in, man. I already put it togather the way I want and it fits with a little bit of fabrications like cutting into the bumper and fibreglassing a hold on the corner so i can screw it in later. just to show you, but i'm not done yet because I known from the start that the bumper doesn't match up but I put mat down to show you what I mean. I hate those 95-99 cornerlights. because they look crappy to me.

its night out right now but i only had time after work to do it. I just put it in 20mins ago.

thats fibreglass mat to show you i'm actually going to fibreglass it.

hey man its your car, I've never seen it before so i can't say what it will look like when finished. It just seems like a lot of work just to switch the headlights, why did you choose the 95-99 headlights over the 00-02?

remember I actually got in the accident a couple days ago and its almost done being fixed.
I just hope it turns out good myself. i still have to fibreglass the bumper which isn't very hard after i sand it and drill holes in it..

I think ur gonna have these problems

- gettin the fiberglass to stick to the bumper
- the fact 99 headlights are longer then 2k ones which means the turnsignals will have to either be pushed back more into the fender or stick out unlike stock

well thats basically it but those are basically the 2 important things anyway.. also have fun with wiring the new bulbs.

gonna be honest.. not feeling it but maybe u can complete it and prove me wrong.. i think if u can f/g the bumper for small headlights u coulda easily fiberglassed urself some 2k projectors..not trying to be a dick to ya but i dont see it working as well as u planned

ya, but if hes puting in all this work to make those headlights fit, then why not spend that effort to make a set of 00-02 custom projectors. easier in the long run also

Well guys. You keep putting him down and saying that it will look like @!#$. This is what having a custom car is all about. Trying new things that just dont make any sense. I see stuff about it "not looking stock". No, it wont look stock. Why should it? If he wanted stock he wouldnt have switched to a different light system, would have purchased a new hood and bumper for it, or even took it to local body shop for them to keep for a month. I say keep up the work and post pictures as soon as you get it completed. Im curious to see how nice it can look.

i dont even need to read it other then the first line. This is nothing to do with what a custom car is.. a custom car is not pieces flowing unevenly looking tacky or big wings. u have the wrong perception if you think its custom
