hey guys,
finally got my body kit on the way monday, and was wondering what EXACTLY i needed to do i order to get the new rear and front bumpers on?
thanks,
chris
might help if u tell us what kit you got. might have to trim the crushguard behind the bumper but more info is prolly needed
buy a chilton and read the part about removing and installing body parts.

^^^^ this is actually good advise so don't get angery thinking hes trying to be a smart ass, a manual will give you detailed directions on how to remove body parts
front bumper is simple. Two bolts and lotsa annoying smaller bolts holding the bumper to the inner fenders. Then remove the two middle bolts and off she comes.
Back one i havent pulled off yet but i hear its just a couple bolts from the inside of the trunk area and off she comes.
Once you get the stock ones off, its just drill holes and mount back up

i don't have an 03 but that's close.... the front in mine there are 2 bolts where my corners are, i assume they are there somewhere at the bottom of the headlight(you'll have to take the headlights out via the 2 bolts) then there are a bunch of little screws in the fender holding the fender wells in. then there is nylon rivots in the middle between the headlights. get that all off and the bumper should slide off.
for the rear, there are 2 bolts on either side of the trunk under the carpet. then in the wheel well there are 2 bolt inside the wheel well, the same size bolts as the ones for the inside. under the car there are straps coming off the bumper that are held down with nylon washers. the only thing i am unsure about is your filler plate, i know the newwer cavs the filler plate is part of the bumper, idk if there are bolts below the tails that hold the filler plates on or not. otherwise it should come off.
as for what kit you bought, if it's new, holes are probably not drilled and you'll have to drill your own. it's not hard, just take yout time and get the holes right so the bumper fits right. and it'll go together like it came off. You will probably have to cut your front fender wells some since kits are usually lowwer than stock. also again idk what kit you got, some you have to trim the crush gaurd under the bumpers to make it fit right, mine i only had to trim the front alittle, some you gotta trim both front and back.
hope this helps some, it's pretty easy if you are mechanicaly inclined.

Ok, thanks for the help...
drilling holes shouldn't be hard, yea... however do you have to drill all the holes around the inside of the fender as well as the two on top(for the front?)
its a Bomex Style Body Kit from I know. I am really not sure. All I know is that I got a good deal.
Ill definitly get the cHiltons
thanks,
c.
Ok, it is the Bomex front and rear fore the 03 and up cavalier
thanks,
c.
any drilling?
my rear bumper was the only one with predrilled holes that barely lined up. as for taking the stock one off in the trunk pull the carpet away from the side like your going to change taillights you will see 4 bolts two on each side of the car they are a 10mm and there is one more that alot of people never knew about untill they break it trying to pull the bumper off and its under the taillight on the inside of the trunk i don't remember what size it cause i never put it back i had to jimmy rig alot of my rear bumper cuase i bought from a @!#$ company (JTR Sport) sent me the wrong bumper and refused to send me the right one so my 01 cavy has an 03-05 rear bumper. sorry about the rant hope this helps you
