Ok,
So this is what I bought and its on the way here!! A friend of mine that got the same kit for his 96 or early gen said he had to cut out the shock absorber behind the stock bumper. I was wondering if that would need to be done in my case? OR will there be any other cutting that would need to be done for this particular kit?
Thanks,
Chris Osborn
depending on the quality of the kit, it might not fit that great. it will probably fit good but like all fg kits it will need tweeking to get it to fit perfect.
as for the crush guards, yes you will probably have to trim both front and rear crush guards
Sorry, first time I am doing this...
what is a crush guard?
Thanks,
Chris
the crush guard is what is behind the bumpers that attaches to the bumper support
On my 02 with the bomex front, i had to cut most of the crush guard off. Not that hard to do at all. My biggest pain was we didnt cut enough off at first, so we had to keep taking the front off and on.
I have an 03 with a bomex and I didnt have to cut mine
YOU can always just take it right off

ppl always talk @!#$ about j-bodys, but why is it when i drive by all they seem to do is "kplookn"

You should just cut the body kit up too while your at it. Especially the rear...i could park a trunk on the back bumper.
When i had my 03 with the same kit. is i just took it off.

i wouldnt recomend taking it totally off there for a reason! but anyways the use of a rip saw/ wood saw makes quick work of cuttin/trimming the crush gaurds!

when i put on my big mouth bumper i originally had the entire crush guard removed and it sagged horribly. i onlyhad it like that for 2 days while i trimmed the crush guard down. almost a year later it still has some sagging marks. i would recommend not removing the crush guard entirely
Well I never had any type of sag on mine with out it on there and i had the same kit that hes about to put on.
