I would say get a good buffing compund and finishing restorer like 3M and buff the hell out of the whole hood. I know someone on here had the same problem with their hood fading and they use 3M and it looked brand new.

Both are professional body shop grade products. Be prepared to pay some good money for these. I paid $52.50 for both of those... Hood cost me $250... After i finished it, the kid wished he never sold it to me. Looks like glass again..

You must be pretty lucky where you live. You found a carbon fiber hood ina junkyard. I'd be lucky if I could find a 95 up cavalier period at our junkyards. The ones they do have I've already stripped what I wanted out of em. Just thought I'd say congrats on that find. Good luck bringin the shine back.

oh i thought i needed to like sand it down so i was tryin to word out what grade of sandpaper or whatever i should use. yeah i guess i did get pretty lucky to tell you the truth i wasn't expecting to find any z24's at the junkyard the purpose of the whole trip was to find a sideskirt for my friends civic. i didn't even pop the hood as soon as i saw the interior i knew it was a z then i popped the hood which was light as hell and low and behold it was a 2.4. when i go up there today i'm gonna ask about the engine and maybe try to get that or scrap parts and piece off the engine for a rebuild.

no pics at the time i need to get a hold of a camera. man this is a project hood like a mutha f@#$%. i definitely need to take some before and after pics cuz right now the hood is in bad shape. the shell blew off of the main body of the hood when i was driving home thank god it didn't break in half, get ran over by the car behind me, or cause an accident someone was sure lookin over me today. but yeah this hoods gonna end being a little piece of work. i asked around town today about how i should go about putting back together and everyone told me to go buy some Sh%^ called liquid nails and sand out all the scratches and take it to a body shop to get new clear coat sprayed over it after i sand everything and buff it out. this weekend me and my friend are gonna put it back together then prolly in two weeks it should be in tip top shape. i'll try to get a hold of my womans digital cam and get some before and after pics. i'll keep you guys posted on the progress. oh and by the way eventho its in two pieces the hood still looks bad ass. makes my car looks so more aggressive. when all is said and done it'll still be one hell of a deal.
