Yet 1 more Headlight swap Q!
Friday, April 14, 2006 7:54 PM
I have been looking through several diagrams on peoples write ups on how to do this. A couple good visual ones conflict with one another I think, but i haven't done this yet but since i am still waiting for parts to come in. I'd like to get the jist of it done before hand.

I found this one burried in an old post...

By the info given in the Sticky above done by Manta Z.. the positive and negatives are as follows....

This is my modified interpretation on how to to do it. I don't know what color the wires off the 9007 pigtails are going to be so i left them black. But does that where the wires from the 95-99 wire go to on the pigtails?

Can any of you vets of the swap verify this?

You wouldn't cap off the positives (one side wouldn't have highs, and one side wouldn't have lows). Tie the two positives together on both sides and it'll work.

Thanks shifted, maybe thats what the hyphens in the original diagram meant to stand for. When i got it from searching, the guy who posted it didn't make too much reference to it. But i think i understand this task now...

Hold on, I thought you were going to the older style, if you are going FROM the older style, then you do cap those wires. If you are going TO the older style, then you do what I said...

hmm.... I just find it weird that you have to cap off the high beam Positive on the drver side then on the passenger side you have to cap off low beam positive. Wouldn't one way or another be a constant...not either or?

You can also do that, it really doesn't matter. As long as the 95-99 wiring is a switched ground (both positives are always active), then you don't have to hook them both up (the 00-02 headlights only need one source of power). The important thing is the grounds, since these are switched grounds.

So you mean We can either do the diagram that you drew with both positves put together or we can do it the way i had it done with the correct ones capped off for either side? All this back and forth... Sheesh...
