Friday, April 14, 2006 4:12 PM
ok.. im getting my car in primer next week.

I wanna black primer and cant seem to find it anywhere in town and so im thinking about buying a small amount of black paint to the prmer.. its a gallon of grey so im thinking about adding a pint of black and then adding primer sealer after words

I am going for a look like this.. till I can afford paint

But if I add a pint of black paint to grey primer and then add sealer.. could I achieve this..

Any tips or suggestions ?

Use Sikkens colorbuild black...you can get it in red, white, black , green, yellow, and blue. And you need the hardener and activator. The only thing is that it will be a more flat black compared to what you have in the picture. I don't know where you could get it. I get it from our autobody supplier at work.

if you use PPG use ncp 271 and you can add color to the primer just don`t ass color to a primer if the manufactuer does not recomend it

or you can use PPG`S dp90 is a black sealer which will give that effect but do not leave that product on the car for log as it has a window before it has to be painted if ya go past the window the sealer has to be sanded and re applied
so use caution in which product you buy

can i haz bondo

that isn't flat black on that car.. its black base with a flattening agent in the clear, you see tons of that same thing on old hot rod cars . they have a bunch on the internet . they tell you what they do to it.. add flat agent in clear.
they got a paint out now, but its acrylic enamel, its hot rod flat colors.. get a gallon around 70-80 bucks.. email me - i'll track it down.

well.. we have been doing a lot of work on the car over the weekend so I havent had much of a chance to reply. I went to the Dupont Auto paint store down the road and they happened to have DTM black primer that will be alright with the Urethane parts, and I got some sealer for it also. Cost 104 after tax for everything.

Once we get the locks and ant. shaved.. we are gonna shoot it.. ill have pics this weekend
