So today I was just cleaning my stock rims and i noticed a spot on my car thats rusting and its a lil bit bubbly. Its on the passenger-side rear, a little bit above the back bumper by the tire. Im sure there have been posts about cars rusting early and I simply suck at searching, but I think I read at some point that you could have them fix the rusting area if its that new of a car. This may be a dumb question and I'll ask it anyway, but does it have to be under warranty or is it just BS that my car is already rusting? its an 03. I just can't remember if it had to be under warranty to have it fixed (which im sure it has to be), but this sucks to happen so damn soon! And im sure i'll get bashed for not searching--even tho I tried, but I couldn't find an answer to this question (if there was one).
Thanks in advance!
I'd check your warranty and with your dealer about it. I've never owned a J with a warranty, but my 05 Scion tC has a 5 year unlimited miles rust warranty thing...
ooooh scions are sexy...thanks for the response...i guess i just have to deal with it
gotta love cars!
lol I have a post in Other Cars with a pic. Anywho's... seriously... it shoudl still be under warranty check it out.
man my 03 is rusting as well
I'm assuming you also forgot to get the factory rust proofing
Anyway I THINK warranty expires at 100,000, and it's for corrosion.
But I might be wrong, call up your local stealership
well its just too bad that you can't just paint the certain area without having to spend a ton on painting the whole area to make it look *perfect*. Even my touch up paint isn't the right one...im sure its the more *real* yellow paint that they used in the 04s. Mine is more orangey-yellow. (I like mine better) hehe. Then i have problems to my ABS and Trac Off that i gotta deal with too. Better trade this car in before it goes bad! lol.
haha-- "stealership"-- i'll definately use that one.
