Side skirts rubbing on door?
Wednesday, April 19, 2006 12:09 PM
i was just curious if anyone else has this problem. My side skirts are rubbing on my door, taking the paint of the top part of the side skirt that is attached via the 3m type tape. Also the front part of the skirt towards the fender is bending out like, and not even touching the lip. Anyone have these types of problems and have did u fix them? Car show season is coming up and im trying to get everything immaculate. The car is going back in to get re-painted so they will re-do the skirts but i want to keep this from happening again. thanks

I have the blitz sides and this happens to my driver side door too. I am getting it taken care of when I get my F1 fenders so only the side skirts are molded for now. Have some shop mold the skirts for you, cuz if they do it right( like they should) this will take care of the problem.

im thinking we may have to lay some self tapping screws along the door sills....

Mine is doing that as well on both sides...I am taking the 3M tape off and using some silicon to reattach them. This will level them out more and even make them a bit lower so it should fix the porblem.

I'll let you know how it turns out. Bad part about doing this is I can't take them off (well not as easy as 3M tape).

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
