So I recently picked up these NRG pins for my new CF hood:
I want to mount them on the inner bumpstops over the radiator, trouble is, the hood angles, so I cant figure out how to mount them so they sit flush with the hood, and stay straight underneath.
Any advice? Or am I going to have to use the outter bumpstops?
chuck norris outran a cavalier. he just stood still.
I think most 3rd gens put them on closer to the middle because it is straighter there...
Those look just like the first ones I tried installing on grillrd's car. They busted off and I had to go buy a new set.
Anyway... what you can do is this...
Make sure you have everything lined up right. To get them to sit straighter and sit in place better, you can find a narrow hollow metal type tube. Install the pins in the more center holes (because they are a bit straighter), and get them TIGHT. Use the hollow tube, place it over the pins, and GENTLY pull on the area where the bump stops were and the pins now are... getting them to sit how/where you want them... then complete the job.
If that doesn't make sense, let me know, because I just got off of work a little bit ago, and haven't been sleeping too well lately, thus, I'm half asleep.
i got some the same style. But on mine, where the arms lock into the pin, it can pivet. Use a allen wrench to loosen a screw and then angle it as needed then tighten it back up.
