Hey guys i got my JSP carbon trunk today, and i have it fitted almost perfect! But i noticed under the clear coat it almost looks like there is silver glitter in some patches? obviously it isnt, but its speckly...anyone ever seen this? Also its so damn light i am worried about it coming unlatched, should i get pins? i really dont want to cuz i think it will look bad...

mine has the same thing. its air bubbles in the finish. nothing you can really do about it. also. i thought about pinning mine, due to weight, and the fact that it dosent line up like i want. it does line up pretty good, but i could get it so much better if i pin it

Yeah i must agree with you there. For an aftermarket part it fit pretty damn good. It took me about 20 minutes to get it fit, could it fit better? yeah. But you have to really stare at it to notice .

like hood pins

if i do pin mine, ill be using the same type i have on the hood. less noticeable, and they lock

just take your trunk springs off, then you wont have to worry about it, i mean there isnt a lot of drag on it, so why would you pin other than for fitment?

Just wasnt sure...i have heard horror stories about carbon hoods, so i figured i would just ask and be sure. The last thing i need is my trunk flying off and clobbering the car behind me. lol

ya, im not worried about drag, it would be purely for fitment. i have the tensioners as low as they go, but my next step was gonna be to try taking them off completely. if that dont work, then i may pin it.
