How does water get into the blue bogo ties of a newer cavalier? (2000)

both of mine are in the garbage becasue there were ugly as F.
but they where in the car for 4 years and there were fine.
I still got mine and no water bro.. I got the stuff to take em off is it worth taken them off what you guys think?
i didn't have mine on very long but didn't have any problems with water gettin in them. hit me on aim (sykeeok02cav) if you want to replace yours. i think i still have mine floatin around someplace and i don't have anything i need them for.
