so i no ther was already a form about this but i wantd to make a new one since it was really old.... so i used fish string and tried *sawing* the glue off of the side moldings on my doors. and it workd but....... still left a good amount of the double stick tape on .... what should i do to get it off? (i used goo gone but it doesnt work. and i find myself like peeling it wit my fingers) ne suggestions?

thats how you do it, you'll have some nice blisters to show for all that hard work too.

lol ok cuz i got one already... haha and i got the other side to go.... the problem is i got a 4 DOOR so i got a lot of work. but yea it does look nice now tho. thnx

I wore Mechanic's Gloves and that seemed to cut down on the soreness of thumbs a bit.

i was thinkn that but then relizd i didnt have ne wit me haha, but ok so im done. it took like 2hrs of work, 4 blisters, 2 sore hands, half a bottle of goo gone, and a role of paper towel = sunfire wit no moldings. ill get pics up soon

I feel your pain. I took the side mouldings off my mom's Sedan a couple years ago. Man did that suck. Think of it this way though... it will make washing and waxing the car a lot easier .

I sprayed WD-40 on it, left it for an hour, and the glue practically wiped off! Much easier.

I didn't even plan it that way... I forgot about it, and went back to it after about an hour... see? Laziness DOES pay off!

^ ^ ^ Was going to suggest the WD-40 myself. Stuff cleans greasy hands like a mofo too. Good idea to give a good wash and wax too as the WD-40 will strip the wax.
