my bulbs have melted my fog light housings pretty bad, im gonna pick up some new ones.. is there anything i can do to make them a little more heat resistant? im thinking some sort of paint or coating... just dont really know wut im looking for
i was also considering just cutting the back out and siliconing a projector in
but that would require alot more work than i think im ready for lol
yea, thats why i need to protect them
doing projector fogs really isn't tough. Just make sure you have a cutoff piece in the projector so you don't blind people. Other than that, it's just as simple as you said... cut a hole and silicone it in, then reattach the lightbulb fitting.
i do have the correct projectors you are looking for if you were seriously looking for some. hit me up if you are interested.

well im gonna see if i can jsut heat coat the housings first as that would be very much easier
if i do choose to go the projector route i will be in contact with you tho!
thanks
go to auto zone, or advance auto parts, or even wal mart, pick up a can of red high temp engine paint, it works wonder, I used it on a spot of my back bumber where my exhaust started melting my bumper and it fixed it
nope your screwed..
even if you use a 500degree paint or w/e.. i dont think it just makes heat disappear..as soon as the paint gets hot enough it might withstand it..but the housing would still get hot and melt..from the heat.. plus ull have to find ome reflective paint anyway..I think your projector idea is a good one just work on gettin the angle of aim right.. #1 problem solver is not to get higher wattage bulbs.. Or just buy some similar aftermarket housings or sumthing..
or you could just make some heat vents in the housing even.. cut a few angle slits in the top.. not big or thick.. just take a dremel and make some angle cuts.. u dont want striaght up cuz it wouldnt pull out the heat good enough. Maybe also find the lowest spot in the housing and drill a 1/8" hole in the bottom so if u get any water in there it can drain out..
yellow strips = angle cut marks for vent holes on top
yellow dot = 1/8" hole drilled in the bottom
maybe i should get an intercooler for my fog lights...
i think i might try that idea manta, and with my old ones ill mess around and make some projector fogs
ight. i think u should get a hude as IC.. "You got turbo?" "Naw.. its for my fogs" *awkward pause*
lol im just waiting for the guy to get back to me and if not ill see u my fogs..
okay, sounds good man.. hopefully they are mine lol
