The GXP Conversion continues....
Friday, June 09, 2006 8:47 AM
So yea I'll start off the post by saying that my "GXP" conversion is continuing on. I am in the process of having Alex at BlackCat design my GXP inspired guage face. I have ordered GXP Badges yes it may be a lil rice but when I am done with the conversion it will be a "GXP" Soon my interior will be re-upolstered in the GXP style leather w/ cream inserts scheme. RK will be making a set of GXP floor mats. The next thing will be gettin GXP style rims. Supposedly the Vibe GXP will be holding the Sunfire GXP rim style and if GM stays with it, the bolt pattern will still be 5x100. As for a kit, the GM lip kit is close to the Razzi kit but a little less aggressive. Both kits though are a "design" based off of the GXP concept design. Then when the exterior is all done, the GM supercharger will be dropped in, and I will be having a dual outlet exhaust made that again replicates the GXP style. When I get around to it, I will start posting pics. But for now this is as close an update as I can make.

Haha yea, people with a Cavi can do a JDM conversion if they want. Well a sunfire is a sunfire, but this makes mine unique.

Actually the GM lip kit was designed off of the Sunfire Autocross. The kit on the GXP was a lot different. Anyways, Good luck to you on this project! Make sure to post progress pics!

If I want to take the easy way out, I'm probably going to just get a body kit. Although, my father knows a guy that does custom body work. When I get home from Boston I am going to go see if he can make a custom mold of the front and rear bumpers. The spoiler is a bit easy, the tiberon shares the same basic concept of the spoiler and to work from that will be that.

Ofcourse it will be pricey to get everything done, but I always loved the GXP style and I'm going to complete it, it will just take time. Ofcourse there will be pics. Just be patient

These wheels are very similar to those.

Did you know that the holes only natural enemy is the pile.

The closest wheel ive seen (probably the same one) was the Millie Migila Evo 5, last i saw it was discontinued, and not even sure if it was 5x100 or not.

I saw a tibouron today. Looks like they used an erebuni wing.

I think it looks pretty close.

I have seen a few cars with those wheels.

The wheels are the same as the 06 Grandprix GXP (the one with the LS4), but wont fit our cars (5x115?)

Yup they are 5x115, supposedly if they make the Vibe GXP it will have the rims as well, but 5x100. Mille Miglia is the company that makes the exact rim but they no longer ship to the US. I checked their site and they still make the rim but it is not offered here. A simmilar one is offered through Tire Rack though.

Yup GXPs are supercharged. Hence why I am droppin the GM supercharger when I get the money.

Yup Erebuni make a replica spoiler of the Tiberon GT's, but it is a little too big, someone else on the forum used it and had to cut it down in the middle to make it fit.

isnt 5x115 the lug pattern for all grand prix? if so do a front conversion and rear irs conversion using the gp stuff, i know its been done then you could use the newer wheels, and i would say make/or have the bumpers made dont lip it.

goodluck keep us updated

R.I.P. Brian Klocke, you will never be forgotten

I think grand prixs and almost all other front drive cars are 5x114.3. I could be wrong though.

Those are actually the newer versions of the Mille Miliga EVO 5 types. They are called the EV-S. Although they are easier for my to get than the EVO 5 types, since I believe MM has stopped its US marketing.

again take the idea i throw out there ... steel the rims off a 06 camaro lol

j/k ... they have to be still able to make them or they are called something else ... if i see 5 of those a day around here some ones making them!
