used glass cloth and resin gel for a couple of layers the I used a short stand fiberglass reinforced filler and I have yet to use but I'm going to top it off with a skim of poly filler just to final out to a smooth

Filler probably isnt the best choice, especially if you are going for a "show" car. All in all ... welding on some metal and grinding it down, sanding, primmer and then paint is probably going to be the best bet. Dont get me wrong, it looks good now. Just something to think about in the future.

as soon as you can show me how to weld to fiberglass I'll do it
as for the antenna its been welded its just has a coat of fill over it thats hasn't been sanded

sorry about not noting the useage of fusor 147 in the earlier post but that was used to initialy secure the bumper the glass was used to bridge the seam gap

I do not envy the amount of sanding you have ahead of you...
^^^ and the sanding never ends or so it seems
so you laid it right on top of the paint? didnt even bother to sand to paint off?
my arms are still sore from sanding I have it mostly shaped now just a little more to get it to where it will be good
did I ever say I hate sanding I realy realy realy hate sanding

Sanding was my least favorite part of body work lol
Oh... and what everyone else said... you DID take off the paint before you laid the glass right?
it doesnt look like it. im not trying to be a dick but id hate to see all that work go to waste. it doesnt look like there was any paint removed from the bumper or the car because you can see paint right after the resin ends so i doubt any paint was sanded off
I see it too, going to crack..... Ok for you guys that think this will work. fiberglass doesnt stick to TPO plastic or steel. doesnt matter if you grind the @!#$ out of both or not. Fiberglass sticks to pourous surfaces, like say wood. It was never designed for molding plastic to steel, just fiberglass to fiberglass. Look at a boats construction, all fiberglass with wood inserts here and there, and some foam. No steel panels molded in . that should tell you something.I am aware of the fusor products, the product that your using is a middle man so to speak, but it is still is not a pourous surface. There is no good way to do what you want to do because the materials are so dissimilar.

I was refering to skipping the fiberglassing and starting with welding. And I do understand that you can not weld over fiberglass. Keep us updated on the project though.
