Hood pins?

I'm getting the RK Sport air ram hood, and I'll be needing hood pins, I was just wondering is there any difference between them are some better then others? Which one should I go with?

Don't get the locking ones that come with the little pop machine type key, they suck I was putting mine in and they broke after I already had 2 7/8" holes drilled in my hood, I have seen some other people with those on here so I don't know if mine were just crappy ones or what, but they came free with the hood so whatever. But i ended up getting these from summit racing. The plate was big enough to cover the hole and I like the look of these better than the Sparco type.

needing hoodpins? I havnt been in the J market for years, but back when i owned my sunfire, and had rksports ramair hood, i drove it for years without hood pins just fine.

Plus I think they really ruin the look of the car.

True but also I don't want to risk my hood flying up while driving. Better to be safe then sorry. Does anyone else know of any good hood pins?

I had some Moroso hood pins kicking around. Any good quality auto-parts store should carry something. Summit too... maybe some of the aftermarket suppliers on here (CarCustoms, APlus Performance, etc)??

I've had an RK extractor hood for years... never needed the pins. I've gone WAY too fast in that car... lots of highway miles too, high speed.... Montana.... yeah

Yes, a lot of people don't use the pins but the cost of the pins is alot less then the cost of a new hood and possibly windshield should you need the pins but didn't have them.

I believe the RKSport hoods were designed to not need hood pins. They're usually stronger than most other "cheaper" hoods out there.
