Lots of work to paint roof with sunroof?

Some of the paint is chipping off on the roof of my '99 Z, and I'm going to get the roof repainted this summer. My car has the stock sunroof, and I was just wondering how a shop would paint my roof. Will they just tape off the glass & rubber trim of the sunroof or will they completely remove the glass & its rubber trim?

I'm just concerned that if they have to remove the glass & rubber trim that the roof might leak if they don't put everything back on correctly when they reinstall it after paint.

Ask the shop what they will do. Depends on the shop.

at school if the car had a pop up sunroof, we'd take em out. but if it was power we'd just tape it up real good.. its a lil harder to get the paint as close to the rubber with the sunroof in... i kinda miss doing body work...

when my car was painted they removed the stock sunroof.

it will give the paint a cleaner finish ontop and will be well worth it.
