keep in mind it looks nice, but what would you rather have, someone ding that guard or crease your door?

I have a yellow cavalier and just removed mine two days ago. Got a bit of a surprise, the paint under the passenger side moulding was stained. I guess water got trapped under the moulding. I'm hoping it will fade but if it does not I am looking at $300 for a repaint from the dealership.

I like the smooth look, I have an 01 silver 2dr, Im painting the whole thing and trashing the mouldings. I park at the end of the parking lots. And you know when I come back out there is an old junker always parked beside me. Kind of makes ya want to stay home.

A bit of advice to others that are thinking about removing theirs. Check to see if some one painted the door without removing the mouldings, that will leave a nasty paint line. Also the best way that I have found to remove them without harming the paint or the moulding is by using piano wire and a piece of broom handle (about a foot long). Cut a 2 foot piece of wire attach it securly to both ends of the stick. start the wire at the end of the moulding and use a sawing motion while pulling it through the adhesive tape. The other option of just yanking on it works too but its hard to get it started and you ruin the moulding most of the time. I use the piano wire thing on 90% of the emblems and mouldings that I take off, the other 10% I use a 6 inch drywall knife that is sharpened like a razor. That takes a little time to get the hang of though because of the sharp blsde will gough the paint easily.

Oh yeah the glue, thats fun. I use an emblem glue eraser, it goes on the end of a drill. It kind of looks like a hockey puck with a rod through it. Its awsome. 3m makes it.
