Originally I had planned on getting the RKsport CF bezel, and then getting a set of black 95+ altezza/euro lights off ebay..
RKsport bezel: $180+s/h
ebay tails: $60 + s/h
but...
the black altezza/euro tails specifically made for the 03+ cavalier would come out to be roughly the same price
What do you guys think? I haven't seen the 03+ altezzas on a car yet

I honestly don't like them, bit it's your car, do what you want to do to it. I went with the RKSport carbon fiber trunk filler, and RKSport CF euro tails....

you can just get a trunklid off a 95-02 cavalier and it wont have that peice or the holes in the trunklid for it. Then u can just buy a regular set of euros.. would look better IMO cuz that honestly doesnt look good at all to me.. from the "chrome" inners, to the red dot reflectors, and then to the 2 "ribs" going through the center peice wont go with nothing..
but your car ur decisions is all that matters..

I had the holes on mine welded shut for $10.00 and then painted the lid for $50.00. If anything go with the RK bezel, it looks better IMO.

I have a spoiler on my 04 cavalier, how would that work if I tried to get an 02 trunk lid?
but then after buying the lid, painting (if needed), the hassle of installing the spoiler with the brakelight, etc, i'd probably end up spending the same amount again

The spoiler could swap right over if you did the work yourself. The trunk from 95-05 is the same trunk, only difference for the 03-05 is the holes that the big red bezel bolts through. If you drilled the holes and wired the brake light yourself, it'd save you a lot of money, and its not hard at all.
I would go with the trunk swap personally. I did do the trunk swap actually, lol. The CF RKSport bezel is kinda cheap. It doesn't even bolt to the car, its held on by double-sided tape, and for $180, thats pretty crappy in my opinion. Plus I think the older lights look pretty cool on the newer back end.
Not too sure about that 03-05 black bezel with lights though. I think the all chrome one looks pretty cool, but the inner on it still looks generic. I actually saw the black one on a Cavalier around me, and it didn't look all that great. Besides, those sites still want around $300 for those lights, and thats ridiculous.
those tails would look fine, if you buy a can of VHTNightshades along with it.
the rk piece is not stocked by rk so it has to be made , so good luck getting new
the 03-05 stock spoiler (not the s/f 1) in order to use it on the older trunk lid (providing it has the spoiler holes) will need 2 holes to get selded up , as they have 2 less mounting holes

i'm going to hit up some junkyards today to see if I can find any 95-02 trunk lids
before I do this, I have a few questions:
my 04 cavy is silver, did the 95-02 use the same color silver?
Would the colors be noticably different? (fading/age/etc)
would I be able to find a 95-02 trunk lid that had a spoiler on it, and would the holes in it match up to my 03+ spoiler?
I am NOT AT ALL comfortable drilling/cutting/etc, I would just mess it all up. trust me on that one

Don't know if you'd be able to find the holes like that. The holes are slightly different from what Cavie24 said. Best bet is to try and find a trunk with no holes, that way it works out better. As for the paint, you might get lucky and find one silver, or you'll more then likely have to get it paint-matched to your car. Not too much hassle, I paid $125 to have my trunk paint matched to the car, and it was still a hell of a lot cheaper then having them fix my other trunk and repaint it.
stopped by a junkyard, they wanted $195 for a trunklid... and then I'd have to get it painted, and then get 95-02 tails. ouch. that's way out of reach.
I think I'll just stick with the RKSport CF Bezel, and get a set of 95-02 tails and niteshade them.
The cheapest I was able to find the bezel for is $180 shipped.
Are there any cheaper sources out there?

00-05 is the only time silver was offered
the tails in your pic are the 00-02 stock tails , and look to have been tinted which hides the reverse lights
if your gonna get the rk piece , try the calssifieds , if not your better off doing something else , you will prob wait a few months from rk sport for it
You might want to check on ebay for a new trunk. I couldn't find a decently priced trunk and I found a brand new one off of ebay for $90 shipped.
Also, you want to actually go to other yards. I know people who went to the junkyards and walked away with trunks for $30, so keep checking around.
