hey everybody I need some tips on painting calipers I have never done them before any advice? I want to paint them red but not sure on what type of paint would do the best job =)
yes yes clean them good with 409 or fantastic, let them dry and give them a good coat of engine paint. does the calipers good!
just has to be high temp, make sure its high temp!!!
You can use what ever paint you like, I've been for 20 years now and i've never had any regular old rattle can paint ever come off.
Use whatever you like just make sure you clean everything very well before you do. I would recomend using Brake Kleen to clean everything up as its made to get all the brake crap off and leave no residue at all.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.

it works quite well too...i liked the paint was brushed on and not sprayed, cause honestly..i didnt want to tape off my entinre wheel wells ect.
All these guys got it right, I just figured I'd just give you a couple more tips.
1. Wire wheel brush drill bit. It'll eat through rust fast.
2. Very course drum sander bit and refills for really tough spots.
3. I also found that lacquer thinner was the fastest way to clean the drums and calipers. Just don't drink it. It told me it would make me blind and cause brain damage, but nowhere on the can did it say it tasted like diet crap.
Ace carries all this stuff, as far as paint I used duplicolor 500 degree high heat, 3 thin coats. One can should do it.

VHT makes an excellent caliper paint. Eight bucks at AutoZone.
