is painting your calipers and drums bad for your brakes? do they wear faster?

You do realize that the shoes are inside of the drum right? And the pads are covered by the caliper right?

alright just soo i can answer why i would ask this question....well i just got my brakes looked at....the back drums and perfectly fine.....the front rotors, calipers and pads alll need to be replaced..and the guy said something about paint not lettin the heat get out or some @!#$...idk i thought he was a dumbass myself but i wanted to check....i didnt wanna get brand new calipers then paint then get everything @!#$ again

I would find someone that knows something about brakes to change my next set. not the goon that told you that.

well yea...im goin to my mechanic later todayy...just yesterday i got them checked my meineke which im not having them do my brakes.....but the guy at meineke told me that soo i dunno, just checkin

So does that mean a painted engine can't get rid of heat too ? Don't listen to someone who knows less about cars then my kids.
