what is the best thing to use to clean an engine off....i want to remove all the soot and grease and stuff off....i heard armorall works but let me know if there is anything better
go to ur local gm dealership and ask for Engine Shampoo....that stuff works wonders....i clean cars at a dealership and i use it every day...makes a world of a difference

I agree, go to a dealership and see if you can buy their engine degreaser. I use that everyday at my work in the detail center and it works ridiculous magic.
they have this stuff called Engine Brite, white can with orange and blue painted on label (not a sticker) that stuff works very very very well especially with acess to a steam cleaner, even without it and mist from a hose will work, but spray it on, let it say, spray it on again, if need be take a plastic wheel cleaning brush kinda thing on the big thick whit. That will clean everythign up then again steam or mist to rinse it all down. Let it drip dry for a few hours. Then CD2 engine detailer, that stuff works wonders, it has the tire shine kind of effect on the engine, thats stuff you just spray on and let it sit.
FYI while doing this if you have a cone filter its a good idea to cover it with a plastic bag along with the battery and alternator if possible.
i use dawn dish soap its amazing i had so much grease when igot it i dont think someone cleaned the car in its whole life. then i cleaned like almost brand new then used armour all shinny
Black magic engine degreaser/shine works awesome. You can pick it up in the chemicals isle at most autozones.
Just spray on, wash off, and let the engine idle. Done in 15 min.

yep put it in a pump sprayer and put a bag around my airfilter spray the @!#$ out of it close the hood and come back in about 20 mins with the pressure washer and then marvel at the shine.
i uses this simple green stuff... works awsome IMO. i just spary it on then rinse it off after 15min.
