carbon fiber tail and carbon fiber tail filler for the 03 cavs .and 04 cavs...from rksport.....rained here today and it's very hard to get in those holes in the trunk and get everything tight but i do believe it was as tight as could be...the one tail light that fits in the cf filler panel is bulging out a hair and with the rain some water has gotten into the tail...is their a better tool i can use to get into those holes in the trunk to better tighten it down or any other suggestions you can give me...because this is pissing me off....

thanks

Ok, let me get this straight, you're looking for a tool to use to tighten down the nuts that hold the tail lights in? If so just use a ratchet, extension and the proper socket and you should be good to go.

Tails = 10mm (deep well makes your life easier)
Trunk piece = 13mm (again, use a deep well)

ok so we tighten it up and now like i said the water is filling in to the carbon fiber light that is on the trunk part ...my friend says that's not because it wasn't on tight enough he says it was on tight enough...he says its because there is a crack somewhere in the light so i've contacted the company i got it from and haven't heard back from yet....this is pissing me off because now the freakin thing isn't perfect and i have freakin water in the light....any suggestions...besides just going out and spending more money on new lights....i only need the freakin inner drivers side trunk piece....thanks needed to rant....

Hi, LK

That part from RKSport eventually made me so mad that I got rid of it and did the painted tails thing.

You're right - it does not fit properly and you will find that you are better off without having it in your life

For how much they want for it, it should fit like a glove... and make sweet sweet love to you anytime you want =P

It seriously would've been cheaper getting the stock bezel and lights paint matched to your car then what the RKSport bezel & Shipping cost you.

really you think it would've been cheaper to paint wow i really didn't think so

I had my entire trunk painted for $125, so I'd imagine it would cost less then half of that for the bezel and lights . . .

Unless you were being sarcastic . . .

wow really that would be cheap...and no lol i wasn't being sarcastic...although i certainly can be at times ...lol....thanks for the info i appreciate it...because i will most likely go and get that done now....

one more question tho....should i leave the lights and red tail piece off and take it into the body shop to get painted just the pieces or should i put them back on the car and get them painted that way....

thanks again in advance....

well it should of came with adhesive to attach to the trunk. That would cure all your problems i bet. I know on mine, there's a gap from the bezel to the back of the trunk but i dont feel like applying adhesive to the trunk. I had enough of adhesive taking off my side moldings. But i have yet to see water in my trunk or in my toyo tails!

If you have the means, I'd suggest bringing them the car itself. They'll end up taking off the bezel and lights anyways, but they will need the paint code off of your spare tire cover to match the paint.

Hey Orange, I think you gotta update your sig, lol.

ok so because i'm such a sick perfectionist this is what i did today...i went and dug out my old 97 cavs tail lights and cleaned them up and took off the "new" screwed up leaking cf tails i just got from a company that i'll never do business with again because they don't answer emails ...and put the 97 cav tails on with the cf rk sport rear bezel and it looks perfect now and i actually like the look of them together so i will take a pic tomorrow and post it up and let me know what you guys think....but i do think i will eventually go and get the rear painted like my buddy steve has done....lol...but for now i can get a good nites sleep without obsessing because she's perfect again...lol
