I'm actually looking into this myself, is there any other company that does shave door kits? And what's wrong with AutoLoc?

autoloc solenoids' shafts get rusted after awhile whether or not you use graphite spray to lube them. I had to take mine out every month or so to sand the rust off and clean them up. One of them the shaft actually came right out. I had nothing but problems with them. I finally bought spal solenoids a month ago and they are so much better. They come with the aircraft cable wrapped in sleeves and the shaft in these solenoids is encased in rubber ( solves my rusting problem) They are just alot better crafted. Trust me, buy spal. If you search you will see other problems people had and their thoughts on autloc. I will never buy autoloc anything again.
I have the SPAL's as well and I haven't had any issue's with them - Always flawless operation!
i'm new to shaving things. haven't done any of it before and haven't really looked into it. now, if you have remote locks, can you leave the locks functional and just use the remote locks? or will that not work right? and just to make sure i've got everything right, basically the solenoid just pulls on the latch what the exterior door handle normally would, right?
Yes, the solenoid pulls the latch, just as the handle would do. As far as using the factory keyless I don't know because I have mine fully alarmed, but I don't see why they wouldn't work from the factory remote, but you'll have to install a relay for each solenoid.
