Well the shop that I am having paint my sides doesn't know what to do about painting my type-j rear or my import fighter sides. Do you have to have them mounted before paint? They got it all prepped and primered last night but it flaked off when the bumper flexes because it is so flexible. So I'm wondering, do you actually have to have it mounted to the car and spray it on the car or is there something that they are doing wrong? It's just so flimsy that it flakes off when you try to move it. Any help is greatly appricated.
Thanks,
-Paul
they probably didn't either (A) put any flex additive in the primer or (B) prep it enough before primer. Because there is no way it should have just flaked off unless they are not doing things the right way.
They put the flex additive in there, but when the bumper flexes that much its hard to imagine the paint sticking and flexing that much.
make sure they're using some type of adhesion promoter....this should go on BEFORE the primer....
make sure you take it to another shop
Take it to anotherr shop. If they can't get the primer to stick, they don't know what they're doing and you should go elsewhere.
What a dick, dont answer his questions if he asks anymore. hes a cheap ass you doesnt do what he says he will.

Thanks guys. The guy didn't know what he was doing, he said he "forgot" the flex agent so I took it to the shop where I had my wings west avenger front bumper painted at and it turned out perfect. Everything is going on this weekend!
