Ok so im sanding my valve cover... and ive searched and noticed that some people say to use 80 at the start but i have a lot of power tool lieing around (we bought out a lowes.... after katrina) but neways whats the best way or best tools to use? THnx
I did mine all by hand but if your going to use tools i guess a buffing wheel on a bench grinder would work wonders but in my opinion wet sanding by hand is what id do but i never had the tools so.
when you say wet sanding just use sand paper with water and work your ass on it?
Thnx so much everyoen for your input... just curious tho about my head gasket.. a buddy said that if i take the valve cover off i will need to replace the head gasket probly since the car has 91,000 miles on it.... IS THIS TRUE?
valve cover gasket, and yes usually when you pull it off you wanna replace it.
its prolly gonna be about 20 bucks for the gasket. I used a sandblaster for my valve cover and that worked pretty damn good.
we have valve covers? schweet!
