Ok... so how was I being a smart arse??? Read the sticky. Body work/paint PERIOD costs different from region to region, city to city, boonies to boonies. You can get 12 different responses as to what it would cost, but that doesn't mean any one of them are going to be right for your area. There's MANY different factors that go into the cost of body work/mechanical work.... any work on a car. It all depends on who is doing the work, do they warranty their work.... well just read the sticky... that's what it's there for. It explains all the variables and what to look for when bringing your car to a shop... and what to stay away from. Heck when I got ran off the road by a drunk dude, I went to 3 shops and got estimates ranging from $500 to $800... and these were all within 3 miles of each other. It's not hard to stop at a shop and get an estimate, that way you KNOW what you're looking at cost wise for your area.

And btw... any car market has it's fair share of smart arses... Hondas, Toyotas, VW's, Fords....

Why don't you call some shops in your area to get a ball park idea? Not that difficult, get a phone book and hit some numbers. I am sure with the program they use for estimating they can give you some what of a ball park for stripping and paint a trunk lid. Or take that a step further and take the pieces with you and go get estimates on them at different body shops.

if you cant take a straight answer then leave. like nikki said, body work changes from shop to shop. no one can give you a price range on it, unless you call shops in your area. you can go to one shop and pay 150 for the lid to be painted and then you can go to another and pay 400. thats a big price difference. you have enough time to post here and wait for replies, why not pick up a phone book and dial a number and you'll have your answer right away. dont get all pissed cuz you got an answer you didnt wanna hear.
