Hey guys Ive installed a quite a few fog lights on old cars, I am Just wondering what kind of precaustions I need to look out for?. I worried about setting off the air bags in my Cavalier, while I am drilling holes to mount my aftermarket fog lights,
Thanks for youre help.
The sensor for the airbag is at the top passenger-side center of the upper rad support (under the plastic piece).... or I should say, that's where it is on my Sunfire, so unless GM moved it for Cavi's...
Unless you are mounting the fog lights on the hood, no worries
Just check where you are drilling that there isn't a stray wiring harness in the way.
All I would have to do is disconnect the air bag sensor, Ive found the sensor its in the same spot,
Pull the airbag fuse in the cabin fusebox and let the car be for about 15min. Safer than unplugging the sensor. Unplugging it
may (but not always) trip the SRS system, whereas the fuse cuts all power. People recommend the 15min wait time just in case there's any residual charge in the SRS sys...
awsome thanks for the useful tips I'll pull the fuse then wait 15mins
thanks again.
