Ok so i have the soundspeed bumper on my sunfire..im wonderin if the rear bumpers on the pre 2000 bumpers are narrower then the 2000 and up bumpers...the reason im asking is the little plastic peice that you mount your rear bumper to is too narrow to screw in the holes on my aftermarket bumper and i know aguy with one on his 2001 ad it fit fine..and no its not cause its just wapred a bit..its out about 1.5" on each side..phil
haha im havin the same problem but i switch my 98 rear for a stock 00-02 rear. The bottom screw holes on the inside of the fenders is about 1"-1 1/2" away from the bumper. Cant figure out why tho
Yup it was acually ur post that made me think..hehe..ive been looking at stock 2000 and up and they do look wider...also like i said i know a guy with the sam bumper but on a 2000 up style and it fits no prob..i think the plastic brace is diff for the 99 down..phil
yea i just got pics of what my bumper looks like and where it doesn't fit at. Next week im goin back to the same junk yard to get a head and im goin to look at the mounting holes on the sunfire i pulled the bumper from and compare them.
well i went and looked at a stock 2000 and up bumper on the car and it looks as ifyou need the mounting brackets as well....the bumper flares out on the 2000 and up and the pre 2000 curves in..so problem solved!!..phil
there i posted my pics over on my post
