Just did a retro on my 03 cavalier with Valeo D1s projectors and i was wondering something......I did the DRL mod but im still concerned with the headlights flashing when you lock/unlock your car with keyless entry. Will this harm the bulbs in anyway?? And if it does how can i disable the flashing???

definately interested in seeing the retro!! as for the bulbs, i dont have personal experience, but i dont think it will harm the bulbs.. if it is a concern, there should be a simple wire clip to disable the flashing lights when arming the alarm.
i dont know for a fact if they will certainly get harmed, but i would never chance it. if there is a way to prevent it from happening, i would suggest doing it. you dont want those ballasts and bulbs turning on/off so fast. but like i said, i dont know for a fact. i will find out for you though. give me about an hour.....

Valeos are sooooo nice. i have a couple of sets here, but ill be carrying valeo bi-xenon (hi beam & low beam) projectors and HID kits very soon!

i know what he means with the lights flashing when u lock and unlock the car , when i got my 03 i it had PIAA bulbs in it and they seemed fine now that i have the Silvania Sliverstars it might be a diff story. only time will tell if its harmfull to the lights

you can talk ot you local dealer or anyone with a Tec2, they can disbale the flash and or the honk with a Tec2
Awsome guys, this has been a real help. For right now im just going to live without my alarm and just lock and unlock my car with my key
until i can get it disabled. Reguarding the retro, it still needs some work. I went out to the car this morning and my driver side headlight was all fogged up......i probably could have done a better job sealing it. As for the cutoff lines, they look pretty good but their not perfect. I am getting a decent amount of blue/purple cutoff tho. I did the washer mod to 1 projector, but i couldnt get any more color out of the other one. Anyway, i will put up some pics later today......

They can do it at the dealer. Before I knew this I just pulled out my drl relay and the lights didnt flash with the alarm. Only drawback is you service light will come on until you put the relay back in.
