Why doesnt hood line up after wreck/rebuild PIXX

Well i bought this car cheap
its an 01 z24 ..anyway

it had a carbon fiber ram air hood i thought it was warped or some other thing so i grab the hood from a diff. cavalier same damn thing

as you can see the wreck wasnt TOO terriable hit a pole at like 10-15mph
replaced inner tie rod;/steering knuckle fender blinker light. good to go or so i thought..
bolted the other hood up didnt line up was like ok damn must be hindges got new hidnges same thing
the wreck isnt even close to where the hood lines up really and hood wasnt even damaged in the wreck really

the fender/hood/bolt hole to car line up perfectly, as well as the fender itself lines up pretty damn good all around..

my other other choice was to drill out the hindgs and gheeto rig it so line up which i didnt really want to do but on the other hand i dont really care i bought the car to sell...
on with the pix..

at the actual hindges the gap looks good etc.. but then goes right and foward(from looking at the front of the car)

you may have bent hood hinges, thats the only thing I can think of that would knock it that far out of line. If you still have acces to that other hood try swapping the hinges with the hood and see what happens. If its not that you prolly have some major structural damage

also your crumple zones might have slightly crumpled, but my monies on the hinges.

I'll tell you its not the hood...probably in your fender....sometimes people move the hood to counter for the fender. You didn't get hit hard enough to have alignment issues....trust me. You already got new hinges...you know all the ways to adjust the hood both on the hood and car side of the hinge right? Should line up fine

ya by the looks of it it`s not in the hinges you have new hinges and by the look of things and the pic of the wreck you have a issue with the upper tie bar and it will need to be pulled back on a frame rack
it doesnt take much for a front end to move over and on the j-body the upper and lower tie bar are not that strong
so ya need to take the car to a shop and have it pulled back but be prepared to pay about 55 to 65 an hour for frame labor those prices are in my arear might be allot different in yours
so ya no slotting of holes is going to correct that problem

^^ thats exactly what i was thinkin when i read the title.. normally if u ever have a wrecked J and stuff dont fit right.. its because something frame related is outta wack.. atleast from all my experiences its been that way..

doesnt need to be hit thaqt hard its the way the car was hit will make it swing over
a car`s uni-body is made to move and wrinkle and crush on impact all those little convolutions you see are there for a reason

weird how i can take off the hinges and lay the hood perfectly on the car and the latch and all gaps are perfect.. and how the fender (assuming frame is bent) lines up perfectly...
and how the fender has a perfect gap with the door.

even tho the hood wasnt touched in the wreck.. amazing

all those parts got moved over during the wreck. so thats why it looks like it fits ok. all those parts may be warped or bent out of shape....making them not oem shape anymore. so if u put new parts on, they arent going to fit right.

but yes...take it to a frame machine. be ready to take it in the a$$ on cost tho.

i'm baaaaack!!
