Door Moldings

i have a 2000 z24. I absolutly hate the door moldings on the side of it. Ive seen jbodies with them off, my question is how hard is it to get them off? Is it jsut pretty much double sided tape or are there screws that hold it in place? Any input would be great thanks!

I have a 98 base, and its just held on with double sided tape. it was easy to get off, but a pain to get all the tape off, so get alot of goo gone, and be careful not to chip the paint, mine was chipped and warped under.

Go to a paint supply store and get a stripe eraser (aka a vinyl eraser) and use an electric drill

use the stripe eraser to remove the double sided tape AFTER you remove the molding - you will need an adhesive remover to get the final residue off.

use a hair dryer and run some fishing line done the back of the moulding and it will peel right off. then use goo gone and your thumbs to get all the adhesive off. very easy!

That's how i did it. I had the worst blisters on my thumbs though which sucked coz I'm a material handler at my job which means I am always handling boxes. So yeah, the blisters suck.

I did mine one side at a time. I had just one side done for like a month and then i found some more time to get the other side done along with the emblems. No one ever noticed it was half way done either.
