in 03-05 cavaliers if u take it off itll just have 6(i beleive) small holes ull need to plug.. but u could always just ge a 95-02 trunklid without the panel cu the trunks are the same through all year cavaliers.. As for sunfires to shave them i have no clue.. the pane lis plastic so u can really just weld the peice in.. maybe use it as a mold and make one out of f/g and mold it in or something.. if u just want the panel to match ur car u can just paint it instead of shaving it..

Well, if you are looking at the 03-05 Cavalier's . . . It is a simple remove bolt task. The problem is, there are several little quarter sized holes that would need to be sealed if you want to keep the trunk without the bezel. Your options for Cavalier's . . .
1) Swap to a 95-02 trunk. Same size, direct bolt on, no bezel holes
2) Buy the Carbon Fiber Bezel and use that instead of the stock one.

As for Sunfire's . . . not really sure about those.
