automatic headlights

Let me start by saying that I have a little problem with leaving my headlights on and killing my battery. What I would like to do is wire up the constant hot on the healight switch to an only hot when ignition on wire. Which of course would cause the headlights to turn off when the key is shut off. This would allow me to have the headlights off if I wanted them off but when the switch is turned on it would turn like normal. I know this will work, I guess I am just inquiring to see if anyone sees any potential problems with this.

I suggest getting your door chimes back...

IDK if this would work but you could try it...
On a SPDT relay...
Ignition 12V to 86
Positive when headlight is on to 85
Alarm or chime of some sort to 87
Nothing to 87A
Constant 12V to 30

You could also use a SPST relay but I don't remember if the pins change.

Well I would like to but the harness I did get for the car I couldnt get the chime speaker to work. And now I dont even know if the speaker made for it is still around. Unless someone knows of a link to get it. I dont understand why a normal speaker would work when plugged into it but It doesnt work.

2K1's didn't get a special speaker for the door chime... It uses the radio & internal car speakers for the chime. You need a special controller that plugs into the old radio harness to get the chimes to work on the 2K+ cars. Cost about $80-100 last time I looked.

I already have the harness. It just did not come with whatever needed to be plugged into the terminals to keep the chimes.
